Standing Bear
Standing Bear was a Sioux Chief who fought at the Battle of Little Big Horn and was the father of Luther Standing Bear. He was a close friend of Crazy Horse and had another son Ray, who was an eyewitness to the Wounded Knee massacre. Standing Bear was well respected by Native Americans as well as the White Man.
Standing Bear's beaded war shirt. This shirt was handed down to his son Luther who gave it to Carl Moon. Carl Moon displayed it in a large frame in his studio |
