Originally published in 1917, Indian
Legends in Rhyme was the first of twenty-two
children's books by Grace and Carl Moon. The stories and legends, told
by Grace Moon in a simple and charming style, were gathered by the Moons
during years of living and traveling in Indian country. Carl Moon, famous
as a photographer of the Southwest, was also celebrated as a graphic
artist and painter. His photos and drawings bring the poems to life.
This delightful book is now introduced to a new generation of
young readers.

"About the only thing we have thus far overlooked taking from the Indian is his right to perform his religious rites with their accompanying dances in his own way."
